ECO TEST: Be careful with silicone joint compound

In its most recent issue, the magazine ÖKO TEST published a test with 20 silicone sealants currently on the market with worrying results.

50% of the silicone sealants tested are rated unsatisfactory because they contain organotin compounds that are described as “very toxic,” and 25% are rated at best “satisfactory” because they also contain toxic substances, just in lower doses.

Allergy sufferers in particular are at high risk from the pollutants they contain.
